| Jim Ray, president of Neuse
River Networks, has been a member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers, Inc.) for over 25 years. Jim is also a
membership chairperson, and as such was able to help promote Will
Atherton to the status of senior member.
IEEE is the world's leading professional association for the advancement
of technology. It is a world wide organization with a chapter serving
Eastern North Carolina
To achieve the status of a senior member of IEEE, an individual
must be an engineer, educator, technical executive or originator
in IEEE-designated fields and able to document at least 10 years
of electrical engineering experience and at least 5 years of significant
performance in their profession. Senior member applicants are given
credit for their educational years: 3 years for a baccalaureate
degree in an IEEE-designated field, 4 years if you hold a baccalaureate
and master's degree or 5 years if you hold a doctorate. In addition,
candidates for Senior Member grade must supply three references
from current IEEE members holding the grade of Fellow, Senior Member,
or Honorary Member.
Will Atherton has worked at IBM for the last 9 Years in System
x Series on developing new testing methodologies and Tools Development.
He has worked with the PCI SIG and Blade.org in developing Compliance
and Interoperability standards. Will has his BS degrees in Electrical
Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Technology from McNeese
State University, along with a MS in Computer Network Engineering
from North Carolina State University
Specializing in the design, sales, installation, and support of
today's technology for small to mid-sized markets, Neuse River Networks
also focuses in both commercial and industrial network systems.
Now in its tenth year, the company began with deploying phone, computer,
and audio systems in and around the Raleigh/Durham area, which they
continue today.
