| Neuse River Networks' web site,
www.neuse.net, is hosted with Open Source software. Another web site
designed and created by Jim Ray, president of Neuse River Networks
is www.trianglerecord.com.
It was done entirely on Linux with Open Source software. Open Source
is free software that allows those who have knowledge of the source
code to modify and redistribute the code however they wish. This is
also known as FOSS (free open source software). Using tools such as
these allow more freedom and flexibility when users need to modify
their sites.
Jim Ray prefers Ubuntu Linux mainly because it can be loaded on
any PC within 3 years of age in 1 hour from scratch - installed,
patched, and functional. The same process would take twice as long
if using Windows. By charter, Ubuntu is and always will be free
software, and will never have any licensing fees. The patches are
very easy to use and quick to install.
Specializing in the design, sales, installation, and support of
today's technology for small to mid-sized markets, Neuse River Networks
also focuses in both commercial and industrial network systems.
Now in its tenth year, the company began with deploying phone, computer,
and audio systems in and around the Raleigh/Durham area, which they
continue today.
