| From Friday, February 23, to
Monday, February 27, Neuse River Networks' company web site was down.
The site, not operational due to hardware failure of the server in
the Atlanta, Georgia hosting facility, was back up beginning Tuesday,
February 27. The company did not have ownership of the hosting facilities,
so it was not Neuse's server that was down, meaning that there was
no way to locally correct the problem.
Neuse River Networks found out about the outage on Friday and gave
the host through the weekend to correct it. The problem was not
resolved, so the company made an executive decision to switch to
a new host. The switch was made to DASH Systems, a local hosting
service, on Monday. This allowed Neuse River Networks to restore
email and internet services to half a dozen websites the same business
day. The company continued to try to work with the hosting company's
hardware despite the failure, but was unsuccessful.
Following this incident, after several days of downtime with no
response from the hosting company, Jim Ray, president of Neuse River
Networks, immediately switched service providers. Craig Isdahl,
president of Dash Systems, is now the company's hosting provider.
Founded in 1998, DASH Systems specializes in both useable and attractive
front-end design and functional management. DASH Systems also provides
shared collected and management service hosting along with software
development, including custom web-based applications for client
services. The company's website is www.dashsystems.com.
Specializing in the design, sales, installation, and support of
today's technology for small to mid-sized markets, Neuse River Networks
also focuses in both commercial and industrial network systems.
Now in its tenth year, the company began with deploying phone, computer,
and audio systems in and around the Raleigh/Durham area, which they
continue today.
