| The Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (known as IEEE) is the world's leading
professional association for the advancement of technology. IEEE congratulates
their 465 new senior members! The last A&A Review Panel meeting
was held on 18 November 2006 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Bill Gjertson,
chair of the A&A Committee, would like to thank the panel of Senior
Members and Fellows from the New Orleans and Baton Rouge Sections
who took part in the review process.
To achieve the status of a senior member of IEEE, an individual
must be an engineer, educator, technical executive or originator
in IEEE-designated fields and able to document at least 10 years
of electrical engineering experience and at least 5 years of significant
performance in their profession. Senior member applicants are given
"credit" for their educational years: 3 years for a baccalaureate
degree in an IEEE-designated field, 4 years if you hold a baccalaureate
and masters degree or 5 years if you hold a doctorate. In addition,
candidates for Senior Member grade must supply three references
from current IEEE members holding the grade of Fellow, Senior Member,
or Honorary Member.
IEEE is a world wide organization with a chapter serving Eastern
North Carolina. ENCS has the following new Senior Members as of
